Moritz joined AIIM in October 2010 and is responsible for originating potential deals, analysing and assessing investment opportunities as well as the execution, realisation and performance monitoring of investments. Moritz’s experience spans a range of infrastructure sectors, with a particular focus on energy and utilities. Moritz was amongst others involved in the due diligence and structuring of the 81MW Kathu photovoltaic power plant and the 67MW Umoya wind farm in South Africa, as well as the 60MW Kinangop Wind Park in Kenya. Moritz is integral to the development of the 100MW Kipeto wind farm in Kenya, and is also investigating further projects in East Africa.
Prior to joining AIIM, Moritz worked at Macquarie Capital in Frankfurt where he formed part of their corporate and project finance advisory team, advising on various infrastructure transactions, primarily in the energy sector.
Moritz is an alternative Director on the Board of Renewable Energy Investments South Africa (RF) (Pty) Ltd.
Dr Kenneth Namunje is the chairman of the Board providing Craftskills Wind Energy International LTD with his vast experience and giving direction. He also heads the Board of Craftskills East Africa Limited (a small wind turbine manufacturer in the region) which is the mother company of Craftskills Wind Energy International Ltd.
Dr Kenneth Namunje is a medical doctor by profession with a specialization in surgical medicine from the Universities of Nairobi and Cape Town South Africa. He has a 6 years experience at the department of surgery, Agha Khan Hospital Nairobi. Dr Kenneth is currently enrolled for an MBA programme at the Wharton University USA. Apart from his medical profession Dr Kenneth has had a keen interest in development projects. This can be attested by his current involvement and investment in projects focused on poverty alleviation. He sits in a number of management boards such as Nairobi Outpatient Centre (NOC).
He is a director in Craftskills Wind Energy International Limited and director of Kipeto Energy Limited a JDA with GE Energy to develop 100MW wind farm in Kenya.
Mr Simon Mwacharo Guyo has a lot of experience in engineering and electronics and has been spearheading the research and development of the wind turbine technology and auxiliary electronics devices. He is the founder of Craftskills Enterprises now Craftskills East Africa LTD. He provides the organization with administrative leadership. Simon is the inventor of the WindCruiser wind power machine. He has extensive experience in wind energy installations all over Kenya; so far having himself built and installed several units.
He holds a Bachelor of Education degree from the Kenyatta University, Nairobi. He has over 20 years’ experience in publishing, computer applications, hardware setup, web and software development. The WindCruiser system a (small wind turbine manufactured by Craftskills EA Ltd) is patented by him and he has built and installed over 100 turbines, towers and solar hybrid system. He is in charge of quality control and assurance for the affordable locally manufactured SWT system.
Simon is also a Director in Craftskills Wind Energy International Ltd (CWEIL). CWEIL is a local developer of larger wind power projects. CWEIL brings the local aspect and ownership in project development in this region. The Kipeto 100MW Wind Project is located in Kajiado County south of Nairobi.
Shuvam Dutta is an Investment Officer with the Infrastructure and Natural Resources Department at the International Finance Corporation in Nairobi. He is currently involved with the origination and execution of debt and equity investments in the power sector in Africa. Previously, he executed IFC’s project financing mandates for Solar IPPs in India and the Philippines.
Prior to joining IFC, Shuvam worked with the Investment Banking Coverage team at Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore focusing on Natural Resources and Transportation clients in Asia and Middle East and as a policy analyst with the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
Shuvam holds a B.Sc in Economics and Information Systems from the Singapore Management University and an M.A. in International Development from the Fletcher School, Tufts University.
Tony van Engelen has been involved in dozens of projects spanning a period of 25 years in more than 26 countries on all the world's continents. With a power portfolio of over 1,000 MW, Tony develops, constructs and operates successful and profitable renewable energy projects (wind, solar, hydro etc.). As the founder and owner of NuCapital and NuPlanet, both renewable energy companies with a strong track record in the industry.
Tony joined Kipeto Energy Limited in 2014 to lead the development of this prestigious Wind Energy project in Kenya. Tony is a talented project management professional with a strong technical background, an impressive track record. He is a motivated decision maker and holds a Civil Engineering degree with further studies in economics. Tony enjoys working in the challenging environment that the Kipeto wind farm offers.
As a born and bred African, Tony feels completely at home in Kenya. He is married to Sylvia and they have 3 sons and a daughter, three of which are at university.
